What Are Your Goals for February 2017?

“In a world full of temporary things you are a perpetual feeling.” – Sanober Khan, Poet

heart

While February is the shortest month of the year, it can sometimes feel like the longest. Between the colder, grayer days, and the New Year’s resolutions slump, and the barage of chocolate-filled hearts weighing us down, our motivation may wane. So in February, let’s try to be extra gentle with ourselves and wake up remembering that every day is a new beginning. Try to find some simple ways to reignite your creative spark and find the song in your heart.

What are some of your songwriting (or other) plans, hopes and objectives for this month? Statistics show that writing down goals increases the odds of achieving them. Big or small, it doesn’t matter as long as we keep moving in the right direction. Join us in goal-setting this month and post yours in the comment area.

  1. I went back to school last fall, and while my music classes light me up inside, my body is struggling to keep up. My goal for February is just to make it all the way through in good enough shape to get to March! And then I’ll go from there. 🙂

  2. Pitching my own songs in my catalog always falls to the bottom of my To-Do list, and the list keeps getting longer.
I will make 20 solid song pitches this month! Thanks for kicking my butt!

  3. Actually I’m very excited and a little intimidated by my February goal. I’m hosting a Songwriters Night for the first time a long time! It’s a fundraiser for Sister Cities of Franklin, TN, an organization that promotes global relationships through international cultural and educational experiences. My goal is to prepare to play with the seasoned performers and wonderful friends that are joining us including Marcia Ramirez, Danny Arena, Richard Wold, Carrie Mills, and Nancy Moran & Fett.

  4. February Goals
Finish the songs that I’ve been working on.
    Write write write.
    Pitch songs.

    Christina

  5. My goals are to write out my goals in a bullet journal I just started and try to do something related to songwriting each day!

    • Jamie, that’s an excellent system. Doing one thing, however small, toward your songwriting each day makes a big difference in the long run. Kind of like taking a vitamin each morning.

  6. For February, I plan to keep on working on my song, now titled “Message of Mercy”. I want to get the rewrite in shape to present to a Feedback Class. I am also taking photos for my YouTube project, to illustrate “Midnight Prayer”. No rush on any of this.

  7. My goal is to pimp up my vocals and production skills so they will be the equal to my songwriting. Gonna delve into all the production courses here and keep looking at my George Martin picture and channel the vibes on Sir George.
