Share One Positive Thought About Your Songwriting for April

“3 A.M. is the hour of writers, painters, poets, musicians, silence-seekers. over thinkers and creative people. We know who you are. we can see your light on. Keep on keeping on.”

Usually at the beginning of each month I ask you to post your goals. But sometimes we can get so caught up in what we STILL WANT TO DO that we forget to acknowledge the GOOD THINGS WE HAVE ALREADY DONE. So instead of posting our goals this month, let’s recognize our achievements.  In the comment section please take a moment to:

Share a positive thing or things you’ve done for your songwriting lately

-AND/OR-

Share a quote (or saying) that inspires you to keep on keeping on!

Let your light shine, friends.

  1. The best thing I’ve done for my songwriting is going back to school. I’m catching up on the things I missed, filling the gaps in my education, remembering how much I love classical music, and not so incidentally, getting free songwriting advice from a very fine composer (my theory teacher)! As for quotes, I really love the one you opened with and I think I’ll make it my own. Do you know who said it? Had to laugh, I titled one of my favorites songs “3:10 a.m.”

    • Cathy, good for you for continuing your education. We posted this quote on our SongUNews Facebook page in March and it was shared more than any post last month. I tried googling around for a source but haven’t found it yet.

  2. One positive thing: I keep on writing
What keeps me going? I think I have something to say–the fire inside that wants to share.

  3. Any writer that has scrutinized their own work or have had others critic their work and they still want to write, that fact alone should tell you, that you write because you want to.
Take all input as a learning tool, but don’t dwell on it. And never let it get you down.
Let your writing focus only on the positive and from the heart. There will always be time to critic and scrutinize. Get the ball rolling with good energy and lay down the heart of your next creation.

  4. Songwriting for me began in the 80’s. I feel that I am currently hitting my commercial stride,

  5. My only problem is, that my neighbours will call the police when I start writing as pianoplayer/singer at 3 am.
Unless it will be a smash hit single. Then I just buy this house and keep writing regularly 3am in the morning 😉

  6. Great to get outside and do some writing in the sun again! And then get in for some coaching👊

  7. Go to bed early, get up early and write before you go to your day job. Your soul sings brighter, your brain works better, and your body is stronger. – Happy Ron
